I know when I use lyme behind my kennels it stays around for quite some time.My dogs are on a slab and I use it behind to keep any oder down.It seems to stay where I sprinkle it for a long time before it breaks down. Not sure how well it would be on there feet.If you had crushed stone down it would at least filter down through the stone and the dog would'nt be in contact with it as much. You would have the drainage to let it work, without the worry of the dog standing on it.

I suggest you let the Lyme for some time first. This is to make sure that your dog will not get sick.

I only keep the dogs out of it for a few hours on a windy day so that any real loose stuff will bow away. dogs were not bothered by it. although i do not do this all that often.
